As an oceanographer at SMHI, you can work on a wide range of issues. To become an oceanographer, you need to study for at least three years at a university. It is also common to pursue a master's degree. During your studies, you will cover a lot of physics and mathematics. Some opt for a pure physical oceanography education, while others may focus more on climate or, for example, marine biology and chemistry.
